Slushwave
Slushwave is a vaporwave-derived microgenre that stretches samples and synth textures into foggy, glacial soundscapes. Tracks are typically very slow, drenched in reverb and delay, and layered with tape hiss, vinyl crackle, and other lo‑fi artifacts to create an enveloping, dreamlike ambience. Rather than the chopped, ironic collage associated with early vaporwave, slushwave favors long pads, smeared chords, and minimal or absent percussion. When drums appear, they are subdued and distant. The genre often draws from new age, city pop, smooth jazz, and soft adult‑contemporary sources, pitching them down and elongating them into warm, melancholic drones that evoke late‑night memory, urban solitude, and liminal spaces.

Psichedelia Occulta Italiana
Psichedelia occulta italiana (Italian occult psychedelia) is a 2010s Italian underground movement that fuses psychedelic rock with the sinister atmospheres of vintage horror/library scores, ritual folk elements, and post‑industrial murk. Artists cultivate trance-inducing repetition, droning harmonies, and cinematic sound design reminiscent of 1960s–70s Italian giallo and horror films. The palette often includes fuzzed guitars, Farfisa/VOX organs, analog synths, battered tape echoes, ritual percussion, and whispered or chant-like Italian vocals, projecting a liminal space between hauntological nostalgia and contemporary noise. The result is music that feels both archaic and modern: a shadowy Mediterranean psych that invokes liturgy, folklore, and celluloid nightmares while embracing krautrock motion, post-punk austerity, and experimental rock abstraction.

Spaghetti Western
Spaghetti western is a cinematic music style that emerged from Italian-made western films of the 1960s. It blends orchestral scoring with twangy electric guitars, whistling, harmonica, and dramatic choral textures to create a stark, mythic sound. Typically set in minor keys, the music features galloping rhythms, sparse motifs, bold trumpet fanfares, and striking sound effects (whip cracks, gunshots, whip-like percussion). Its signature timbres include tremolo electric guitar with spring reverb, mariachi-influenced brass, Jew’s harp, ocarina/recorder, and wordless soprano and male-chorus vocals. The result is a highly stylized, atmospheric score language that conveys both danger and vastness—at once gritty and operatic—indelibly associated with directors like Sergio Leone and composer Ennio Morricone.
