ICEKIID

The Wave is a loosely defined cluster of American post-hardcore/emo bands that surged in the early 2010s as emo-pop’s mainstream moment faded. The name was a tongue‑in‑cheek scene tag that stuck in press coverage, but it points to a real overlap in sound, ethos, and touring networks. Musically, The Wave fuses the urgency of 1990s post‑hardcore and screamo with confessional, literate lyric writing associated with emo. Expect shouted or half‑sung/half‑spoken vocals, dynamic quiet‑loud builds, intricate but driving drums, and guitar textures that shift between glassy clean arpeggios and overdriven, emotive climaxes. The songs often emphasize catharsis, narrative detail, and community-minded DIY presentation.

Dakke Dak (also spelled Dakkedak) is a Danish electronic dance music subgenre and slang term that emerged as a distinct cultural phenomenon in the 2010s. Musically, it is a high-energy fusion of various hard dance styles, primarily drawing from Psytrance, Hardstyle, Melbourne Bounce, and Hands Up techno. The name is an onomatopoeia mimicking the rapid, pounding "dak-dak-dak" sound of the heavy basslines and kick drums characteristic of the genre. It is strongly associated with provincial Danish youth culture, "tramper" (stomping) dance styles, car audio culture, and parties in rural or suburban areas. The lyrics are almost exclusively in Danish, often humorous, hedonistic, and centered around drinking, partying, and local identity.

Danish pop is the mainstream popular music of Denmark, spanning Danish- and English-language songs with a strong emphasis on memorable melodies, polished production, and relatable storytelling. It draws on local traditions like Dansktop (Danish-language pop for radio) while absorbing international waves such as disco, new wave, synth-pop, eurodance, and contemporary R&B/indie-pop. A hallmark of the style is a clear, hook-led top-line, often tinged with a Scandinavian bittersweet mood that balances upbeat energy with reflective, sentimental undertones.
