Sigilkore is an internet-born microgenre that merges the ominous atmospheres of witch house with the bounce and drum programming of trap, the tape-warped grit of Memphis rap, and the granular, reverb-heavy haze of dark ambient. Defined as much by its occult visual language as its sound, the style favors heavy 808 subs, skittering hi-hats, detuned pads, bell and choir timbres, pitched-down or formant-shifted vocals, and lo‑fi processing reminiscent of chopped-and-screwed techniques. Tracks often feel ritualistic and hypnotic, with minor-mode motifs, phrygian inflections, and long reverb tails that blur bar lines. Emerging across SoundCloud, Discord communities, and small collectives, sigilkore thrives on DIY anonymity, esoteric cover art (sigils, runes, glyphs), and a mood that’s simultaneously bleak, ethereal, and aggressive.

Trap metal is a fusion of contemporary trap production and the aggression of metal and hardcore. It typically pairs distorted 808 bass, half‑time trap drums, and rapid hi‑hat rolls with screamed or harshly delivered vocals, down‑tuned guitar riffs (live or sampled), and industrial textures. Aesthetically, it emphasizes raw intensity, mosh‑pit energy, and abrasive sound design while retaining hip‑hop’s hook‑driven song structures and lyrical cadences. Themes often revolve around alienation, rage, nihilism, and personal struggle, delivered with a visceral, cathartic tone.

Scream rap is a high-intensity rap style defined by screamed, shouted, or harsh-vocal delivery over trap-leaning beats. Rather than relying on metal-style guitars, it typically keeps a hip-hop rhythmic core—808s, rattling hi‑hats, and booming sub-bass—while pushing vocals and drums into aggressive saturation and intentional clipping. The result is a cathartic, visceral sound that fuses the emotional volatility of screamo and hardcore punk with the swagger, rhythm, and production grammar of contemporary rap. Lyrical themes often center on rage, alienation, mental health, and internet-era nihilism, but also on boastful energy designed for moshpits and explosive live shows.

Necrotrap is a dark, morbid branch of trap that fuses the slow, sub‑heavy bounce of Southern trap with horrorcore’s macabre lyricism and witch house’s occult, lo‑fi haze. Producers sculpt bleak atmospheres with detuned bells, creaking pianos, church choirs, funeral organs, reversed pads, and sound‑design lifted from horror films or VHS hiss. Beats typically center on distorted 808s, clipped saturation, and rattling hi‑hat grids full of triplets and burst rolls. Vocals range from deep, ominous deliveries and whispers to harsh growls and screamed ad‑libs, with themes of death, nihilism, occultism, isolation, and urban decay. The palette is intentionally abrasive and cinematic—equal parts trap banger and sonic horror short.

Transpop is a contemporary pop micro-scene centered on transgender and gender‑expansive artists and narratives. It blends glossy pop songwriting with internet‑native production aesthetics drawn from hyperpop, electropop, and bedroom pop. Stylistically, it favors hook‑forward melodies, bright synths, pitched and processed vocals, and beat palettes that oscillate between four‑on‑the‑floor dance-pop and trap‑influenced rhythms. Lyrically it foregrounds identity, euphoria, dysphoria, love, self‑fashioning, and chosen family, often with a confessional, diaristic tone. While global and community‑driven, the sound coalesced online (SoundCloud/Discord/TikTok) and in indie queer club spaces, making it both danceable and emotionally candid.
