Neurohop is a bass music subgenre that fuses the intricate, high-tech sound design and tense atmospheres of neurofunk with the swagger, swing, and groove of hip hop and glitch-hop tempos. Typically sitting around 90–115 BPM (often felt as halftime), it emphasizes surgically sculpted mid-bass lines, resampled textures, and precision drum programming. The result is music that is simultaneously head‑nodding and highly technical, pairing hip hop’s rhythmic feel with the detailed modulation, movement, and spectral complexity associated with modern drum and bass and dubstep.

Electro trash is a gritty, overdriven branch of electro house and bloghouse characterized by distorted basslines, clipped drums, heavy sidechain compression, and a brazen, punk-like attitude. Emerging in the mid-to-late 2000s club and blog era, it prioritized raw energy over polish: bitcrushed leads, screaming synths through amp simulators, brickwall-limited mixdowns, and abrupt, cut-up edits. The sound took cues from electroclash’s attitude, French electro’s saturation, and new rave’s fluorescent maximalism, resulting in adrenalized tracks designed for sweat-drenched rooms and DIY dancefloors. Stylistically, electro trash favors simple, minor-key riffs, octave-jumping bass hooks, and aggressive build–drop structures. Its visual and cultural aesthetic often leaned into neon, leather, and lo-fi digital art—an “anything loud goes” ethos that made it a defining underground sound of the late-2000s blog era.
