Neoperreo
Neoperreo is a 2010s, internet-native reboot of reggaeton’s perreo culture, spearheaded by a DIY, club-oriented scene that embraces queer, feminist, and body-positive values. It keeps the genre’s dembow backbone while pushing sound design into heavier 808s, crisp digital percussion, and glossy autotuned vocals. Aesthetically, it borrows from global/experimental club currents, moombahton’s mid-tempo thump, and hyperpop’s online sensibility, yielding tracks that are minimal yet hard-hitting, hooky but adventurous. Neoperreo thrives in parties, YouTube/SoundCloud ecosystems, and pop-up scenes across Latin America, Spain, and the diaspora—designed first and foremost for the dancefloor and for perreo.

Glitch
Glitch is an experimental electronic music genre that foregrounds the sounds of technological error—digital clicks, pops, clipping, buffer underruns, CD skipping, software crashes, and bit‑reduction. Rather than hiding artifacts, producers use them as primary musical material, often arranged through extreme micro‑editing and non‑linear sequencing. Texturally, glitch spans austere minimalism to warm, hazy ambience. Rhythms tend to be fragmented and asymmetrical, with sudden cuts, stutters, and silences that create tension and negative space. The palette commonly includes sine‑tone grains, granular clouds, filtered noise, and hyper‑detailed percussive fragments, sometimes sitting over subdued drones or dub‑inflected low end. The style emerged in the late 1990s around labels such as Mille Plateaux, influenced by IDM, minimal techno, and the aesthetics of failure in digital media. It later permeated pop and beat‑driven styles through sound‑design techniques that evoke imperfection and transience.

Bubbling
Bubbling is a Dutch-Caribbean DJ style that emerged in Rotterdam in the late 1980s, built on speeding up, chopping, and rhythmically “stuttering” Jamaican dancehall and related Caribbean riddims. It is as much a performance technique as a production style, centering on turntable manipulation, spinbacks, and barrage-like cue cuts that create its characteristic effervescent feel. Rather than conventional song structures, bubbling prioritizes relentless energy for the dancefloor: pitch-shifted dancehall vocals, looped fragments of soca or reggae, heavy sub-bass, airhorns and sirens, and rapid-fire rewinds. In the 1990s it grew from underground neighborhood parties to a youth movement, later cross-pollinating with Dutch house and helping set the stage for global club fusions such as moombahton.
