Antiviral pop is an internet-native strain of lightweight, hook-driven pop built for shareability on platforms like YouTube and early social video sites. It fuses bright electropop timbres, hip‑hop cadences, and chiptune/game‑inspired sounds with highly referential, humorous, and satirical lyrics. Its subject matter leans on fandoms, gaming, and meme culture, often parodying mainstream hits or reframing them with quirky, narrative twists. Vocals frequently use tight multi‑tracking, Auto‑Tune gloss, and chantable group hooks; productions stay concise, energetic, and instantly singable. Although comedic on the surface, the songs also document early‑2010s online communities and their DIY, collaborative ethos.
