Mestissatge (Catalan for "mestizaje") is a Barcelona–centered, Pan–Catalan urban fusion that mixes rumba catalana guitar, ska/reggae off‑beats, Latin and Afro‑Caribbean percussion, rock energy, and hip‑hop vocals. Born in multiethnic neighborhoods and DIY venues, it favors big brass hooks, dubby bass, rasgueado/“ventilador” strumming, and shout‑along choruses. Lyrics are often multilingual (Catalan, Spanish, French, Arabic, etc.) and balance festive street‑party vibes with social themes around migration, dignity, anti‑racism, and community. The sound is dance‑forward and portable—from squares and okupas to large festivals—bridging the rumba catalana lineage with global ska/reggae/Latin grooves and contemporary urban pop.

Rap político (Political Rap) is a subgenre of hip hop characterized by lyrics that focus on social issues, political activism, and criticism of the status quo. Unlike mainstream rap, which may focus on lifestyle or bragging, rap político uses the microphone as a tool for protest, denouncing injustices such as police brutality, government corruption, racism, inequality, and capitalism. The delivery is often aggressive, urgent, and articulate, prioritizing the clarity of the message over complex melodic flows. Musically, it often relies on hard-hitting boom bap beats, rock samples, or somber instrumentals to match the seriousness of the lyrical content.

Electropop is a branch of pop music that foregrounds electronic instruments—especially synthesizers, drum machines, and sequencers—to deliver catchy, hook-driven songs. It preserves the verse–pre-chorus–chorus architecture and melodic immediacy of pop while replacing most traditional band instrumentation with programmed rhythms, synthetic bass lines, and glossy textures. The style emphasizes earworm toplines, precise rhythmic grids, and tightly produced arrangements that often highlight contrast between minimal, punchy verses and expansive, anthemic choruses. Timbres range from warm analog pads and arpeggiators reminiscent of the late 1970s/early 1980s to ultra-modern, hyper-detailed sound design, making electropop both retro-leaning and future-facing depending on the artist.
