Acoustic Pop
Acoustic pop is a strain of pop music that foregrounds acoustic instruments—especially acoustic guitar and piano—while retaining the catchy melodies, verse–chorus structures, and hooks of mainstream pop. It favors intimate, warm timbres and singer-forward storytelling, often highlighting close-mic vocals, light percussion (shakers, handclaps, cajón), and subtle arrangements like strings or soft keyboards. Compared to full-band pop, it is less saturated by heavy synths and aggressive processing, opting for clarity, dynamic nuance, and a "living room" or "coffeehouse" feel. Lyrically, acoustic pop leans toward relatable themes—romance, self-reflection, nostalgia—with a conversational tone. Production typically balances polished radio-readiness with an organic, unplugged character.

Indorock
Indorock is a high‑energy, guitar‑driven style that emerged in the Netherlands in the late 1950s, created by Indo (Eurasian Indonesian) musicians who blended American rock ’n’ roll with Indonesian/Moluccan musical sensibilities and Hawaiian steel‑guitar traditions. It is characterized by virtuosic lead guitar (tremolo picking, rapid single‑note runs, whammy‑bar dives), strong backbeat drumming, walking or slapping electric bass, and frequent instrumental showcases. Repertoires often mix rocked‑up standards, original instrumentals, and romantic ballads, with occasional rhythmic or melodic inflections drawn from kroncong and Hawaiian styles. Onstage, Indorock was known for flamboyant showmanship—acrobatic guitar moves, dynamic volume swells, and tight ensemble precision—helping ignite the broader Dutch guitar band boom that preceded the British Invasion on the Continent.

Traditional Music
Traditional music is an umbrella term used in the mid–20th century by folklorists and ethnomusicologists to denote community-rooted, orally transmitted repertoires tied to social ritual, work, celebration, and storytelling. Unlike commercial pop or art-music traditions, traditional music is typically learned by ear, varies regionally, and evolves slowly through communal participation. It often features modal melodies, cyclic rhythms, heterophony or unison singing, and indigenous instruments whose timbres are integral to local identity. Lyrics tend to preserve language, history, and collective memory. While the musical practices themselves can be ancient, the phrase “traditional music” emerged to replace earlier, narrower or colonial framings like “folk” or “ethnic” music, foregrounding continuity, locality, and living practice rather than exoticism.

Latin Jazz
Latin jazz is a fusion of jazz harmony and improvisation with Afro–Latin American rhythms, song forms, and percussion. It combines the swing, bebop, and big-band traditions with clave-based grooves such as son, rumba, danzón, and mambo, and later integrates Brazilian feels like samba and bossa nova. Typical features include the use of the clave (2–3 or 3–2), piano montunos (guajeos), bass tumbao patterns, timbales cáscara, conga marcha, and call-and-response horn "mambo" figures. While the rhythm section locks into cyclical patterns, soloists improvise using the vocabulary of jazz, creating music that is both danceable and harmonically rich.
