Modern Funk
Modern funk is a 21st‑century revitalization of late‑’70s/’80s boogie and electro‑funk aesthetics, filtered through contemporary R&B, hip‑hop production, and indie dance scenes. It emphasizes pocket‑tight grooves, syncopated basslines (often synth‑driven), crisp drum‑machine patterns, bright polyphonic synths, talkbox/vocoder leads, and clean, choppy rhythm guitar. Compared with classic funk, modern funk leans more on analog and early‑digital synth colors (Juno, Prophet, DX7, Moog), Linn/808/909‑style drums, glossy mixes, and ear‑candy arrangement details. Lyrically, it favors feel‑good party vibes, love themes, and everyday swagger, aiming for dancefloor immediacy with a retro‑futurist sheen.

Street Band
Street band refers to the modern, ambulatory brass-and-percussion ensemble movement that performs at street level in parades, protests, and festivals without stages or amplification. These groups are mobile, acoustic, and participatory, collapsing the space between performers and audience and often engaging communities directly. Musically, contemporary street bands draw on a broad palette: New Orleans second line grooves and jazz, Balkan/Romani fanfare traditions, klezmer, Brazilian samba/batucada, Afrobeat and Highlife, as well as punk, funk, and hip hop. The result is a high-energy, rhythm-forward sound designed for dancing, procession, and public celebration or protest.

Big Band
Big band is a large-ensemble style of jazz and popular dance music built around brass, reed, and rhythm sections playing arranged parts. Typical instrumentation includes five saxophones (often doubling clarinet/flute), four trombones, four trumpets, and a rhythm section of piano, guitar, upright bass, and drum set. The music emphasizes swing rhythms, call-and-response between sections, riff-based writing, and dramatic shout choruses, while leaving space for improvised solos. Born in American ballrooms and theaters, big band became the sound of the Swing Era, providing both music for dancing and a platform for sophisticated arranging and orchestration that shaped much of 20th‑century jazz and popular music.
