Meme rap is an internet-native strain of hip hop that blends humorous, ironic, and highly referential lyrics with trap-leaning beats and low-to-mid budget DIY production. The focus is less on traditional notions of authenticity and more on virality, punchlines, and the rapid-fire circulation of jokes and cultural references. The style treats platforms like YouTube, Vine, SoundCloud, and TikTok as both stage and distribution network. Songs are often built around a single meme, catchphrase, or comedic premise, using exaggerated personas and wink-at-the-camera delivery. While playful on the surface, meme rap can be musically savvy, borrowing current trap, cloud-rap, and internet remix aesthetics to engineer instantly shareable moments.

Anime rap is a hip hop microgenre that fuses contemporary rap flows and production with lyrical themes, imagery, and aesthetics drawn from Japanese anime and manga. Typical tracks reference specific characters, arcs, and tropes—especially from shōnen series—while using modern trap or boom-bap frameworks, energetic hooks, and cinematic, "anime opening"-style melodies. Producers often incorporate timbres reminiscent of anime soundtracks and J-pop, such as bright synth leads, string swells, choir stabs, and occasional quotations or re-compositions of anime motifs. The scene grew natively on YouTube and streaming platforms through cyphers, character-themed singles, and AMV-style visuals, creating a global, internet-first community that overlaps with nerdcore but focuses specifically on anime narratives and fandom.

Comedy hip hop is a subgenre of hip hop that foregrounds humor, satire, and parody while using the core musical and lyrical tools of rap. Artists blend punchline-driven bars, exaggerated personas, and comedic skits with beats that range from old-school boom bap to contemporary trap and pop-rap. While comedy has been present in rap since the earliest party and novelty records, comedy hip hop treats laughter as the primary goal rather than an occasional flavor. The best examples balance clever wordplay, cultural references, and comedic timing with strong hooks and rhythmic flow, making songs both funny and musically engaging.

Anime (often called "anisong" for vocal themes) is the umbrella term for songs and scores created for Japanese animation, including opening/ending themes and background music. It blends contemporary J‑pop/J‑rock songwriting with dramatic orchestral scoring and modern electronic production, aiming for instantly memorable hooks and emotionally charged climaxes tailored to a show's narrative and characters. Stylistic hallmarks include high-register, expressive vocals; tight, hook-forward structures (especially 90-second “TV size” versions); bright, polished production; and frequent late-song key changes. Arrangements often hybridize rock bands, strings, brass, and EDM textures to deliver cinematic impact, while lyrics favor aspirational, metaphor-rich imagery that mirrors the series’ themes.

Satire in music is a lyrical and performative approach that ridicules human vices, follies, institutions, and cultural clichés through irony, sarcasm, parody, and exaggeration. Rather than denoting a single musical sound, satire is a cross‑genre mode that can appear in folk songs, operetta, cabaret, rock, hip hop, and musical theatre. Its musical surface often contrasts with its message—cheerful or familiar styles are used to deliver biting critiques—so that humor and social commentary land with greater impact. Typical techniques include adopting an unreliable narrator, pastiching recognizable styles, twisting idioms, and using witty rhyme and prosody to sharpen punchlines. The result is entertainment that doubles as critique.
