Musica Cristiana Guatemalteca
Musica cristiana guatemalteca refers to Spanish-language Christian music created in Guatemala for congregational worship, evangelism, and personal devotion. It blends global praise-and-worship songwriting with local and regional sounds such as marimba orquesta, cumbia, balada romántica, ranchera, and more recent pop/rock and urbano influences. The genre emphasizes biblically centered, Christ-focused lyrics, accessible melodies for congregational singing, and "coros" (refrains) designed for call-and-response. Production ranges from acoustic marimba-led ensembles to full modern bands with electric guitars, keyboards, pads, layered vocals, and occasional brass or strings, reflecting the diversity of Guatemalan church life from rural congregations to large urban megachurches.

Norteño
Norteño (música norteña) is a Mexican regional style built around the bright timbre of the diatonic button accordion and the driving strum of the bajo sexto. Rooted in borderland dance music, it blends Central European polka, waltz, and schottische rhythms with Mexican corrido storytelling and ranchera songcraft. Characterized by brisk 2/4 polkas and lilting 3/4 waltzes, norteño songs range from narrative corridos about migration and everyday struggles to romantic ballads and party tunes. Traditional ensembles used tololoche (upright bass) and snare, while modern groups often add electric bass, full drum kits, and occasionally tenor sax (in the norteño-sax substyle) or tuba (in norteño-banda). The result is a dance-forward, story-rich music that bridges rural and urban audiences on both sides of the U.S.–Mexico border.

Pentecostal
Pentecostal is a worship-centered musical style that grew out of early 20th-century Pentecostal and Holiness revivals in the United States. It blends African American spirituals, folk hymnody, and blues-inflected shouts with ecstatic congregational practices such as call-and-response, handclapping, dancing, and moments of free prayer or glossolalia. Musically, Pentecostal services move fluidly between driving praise songs and slow, soaring worship ballads. Hallmarks include 12/8 and triplet feels, gospel chord language, extended vamps, rising key modulations, antiphonal choir-leader exchanges, and spontaneous spoken exhortations. Instrumentation ranges from small rhythm sections centered on Hammond organ, piano, bass, drums, and tambourine to large choirs and contemporary worship bands with electric guitars and modern production.
