Spectra
Spectra is a contemporary, internet-native microgenre of moody alternative electronic and R&B-adjacent music characterized by spectral, hazy textures, soft-focus vocals, and lush, wide stereo sound design. It blends downtempo grooves with post-dubstep sound palettes, dreamy pads, and understated, melancholic songwriting. Production often favors granular and time-stretched atmospheres, filtered synths, submerged bass, and delicate percussion patterns that feel intimate yet cinematic. Vocals are commonly breathy and layered with subtle pitch/formant processing, while harmony leans toward extended, suspended, and add-color chords that emphasize bittersweet, nocturnal moods.

Ambient Techno
Ambient techno blends the spacious, atmospheric qualities of ambient music with the pulse and structure of techno. It favors subtle four-on-the-floor rhythms, soft-edged percussion, and long-evolving pads and drones over aggressive beats or hooks. Tracks typically unfold slowly across extended lengths, privileging texture, timbre, and psychoacoustic space. The bass is warm and rounded, delays and reverbs are dubby, and harmonic movement is minimal or modal, creating a hypnotic, contemplative flow suited to both attentive listening and late-night dancefloors. Compared with ambient house, ambient techno tends to be more austere and less pop-sample oriented; compared with dub techno, it is often less explicitly rooted in reggae-derived rhythms and may embrace more beatless passages.

Rasin
Rasin (mizik rasin in Haitian Creole), often called Haitian roots music, fuses traditional Vodou ceremonial and folkloric rhythms with modern popular styles. It places hand drums, vaksin bamboo/metal trumpets, ogan bells, and call‑and‑response Kreyòl vocals at the center, while electric bass, rock guitars, keyboards, and drum set reinforce the groove. Musically, rasin draws on sacred rhythms (Rada, Petwo, Nago, Kongo, Yanvalou), rara street-procession patterns, and the danceable lilt of compas, then filters them through reggae backbeats, funk syncopation, and rock energy. Lyrically it is grounded in Haitian spirituality, history, and social critique—songs may invoke lwa (spirits) such as Ogou or Ezili, celebrate lakou (community), and address contemporary politics and identity. The result is a vibrant, percussive, and communal sound that works both as ritual-rooted music and as amplified stage music for carnivals, concerts, and international festivals.
