Tagalog Worship
Tagalog worship is Christian praise-and-worship music written and sung primarily in Tagalog (Filipino), created for congregational singing in churches, prayer meetings, retreats, and personal devotion across the Philippines and the Filipino diaspora. Musically it blends contemporary worship and gospel with the melodic sensibility of OPM (Original Pinoy Music): singable tunes, lyrical tenderness, and pop/folk ballad arrangements. Texts draw on Scripture, Catholic and Protestant devotional language, and everyday Filipino expressions of faith, often emphasizing gratitude, surrender, hope, and social compassion. Arrangements range from acoustic guitar and piano with unison/part-singing to full pop-rock bands, string pads, and choral harmonies. The goal is accessibility: melodies sit in a comfortable range, rhythms feel natural to clap to, and refrains invite communal participation.

Kundiman
Kundiman is a Filipino art-song tradition centered on love and devotion, typically sung in Tagalog with refined, lyrical melodies. It is most often set in a slow triple meter (commonly 3/4), employing expressive rubato and ornamentation. Harmonically, kundiman pieces characteristically begin in a minor key and resolve to the parallel major in the refrain, mirroring a poetic journey from yearning to hope. While rooted in indigenous Filipino song and serenade practice, the genre absorbed European art-song and Romantic-era harmonic language during Spanish and early American colonial periods. Beyond romantic themes, kundiman historically served as an allegory for patriotic love of the motherland, especially during the late 19th-century Philippine Revolution. Today it is performed by classical singers and traditional vocalists alike, remaining a cornerstone of Filipino musical identity.

Choral
Choral refers to music written for and performed by a choir—an ensemble of voices organized into sections such as soprano, alto, tenor, and bass (SATB), or same-voice groupings (SSA, TTBB). It encompasses both sacred and secular repertoire and may be sung a cappella or with accompaniment by organ, piano, or full orchestra. Stylistically, choral music ranges from chant-like monophony to intricate polyphony and rich homophonic textures. Texts are drawn from liturgy, scripture, poetry, and vernacular sources, and are set in many languages. Performance contexts include church services, concert halls, and community events, making choral one of the most socially embedded and widely practiced forms of ensemble music. Across history, choral music has served as a laboratory for vocal counterpoint, word painting, and text-driven form, while functioning as a cultural bridge among religious rites, national traditions, and contemporary concert practice.
