Jook is a fast‑paced Florida club-rap style that emerged in the Tampa Bay area. It blends the pounding 808 low end and call‑and‑response hooks of Miami Bass and New Orleans bounce with the stuttering chops and kicks of Jersey/Baltimore club, while borrowing energetic mic‑man hype and riddim sensibilities from dancehall. Tracks are designed for packed dance floors: short, hooky chants, elastic sub-bass, syncopated claps, and chopped vocal stabs that push dancers into relentless footwork. The vibe is raw, party‑first, and intensely regional, yet its toolkit has proved portable across online club scenes.
