Wunderland der Phantasie: eine musikalische Reise durch Euro Disney

Wrestling music is the umbrella term for entrance themes, hype tracks, stingers, and broadcast cues written for professional wrestling. It blends the immediacy of rock and metal riffing, the swagger and bass of hip hop, the bombast of arena-ready pop/electronic production, and the cinematic language of soundtracks. Because themes must telegraph a character’s persona in seconds, tracks emphasize bold hooks, chantable motifs, and high-impact intros that work in noisy arenas and on television.

Show tunes are songs written for stage musicals and revues, designed to advance plot, reveal character, or provide memorable set‑piece moments. They favor strong, singable melodies, clear structures (often AABA 32‑bar or verse–chorus), witty and narrative lyrics, and orchestrations that support drama and choreography. While rooted in the Great American Songbook, show tunes draw on operetta, vaudeville, ragtime, jazz, and popular songcraft, and they are typically performed by stage voices (from legit to belt) with pit orchestras. Because many became popular standards beyond the theater, show tunes occupy a central place in American popular music and are frequently adapted for cabaret, big band, and vocal jazz.

Comedy (as a music genre) comprises songs and recorded pieces designed primarily to make listeners laugh through parody, satire, wordplay, character voices, and situational humor. It often borrows the musical language of whatever is popular at the time—pop, rock, hip hop, folk, musical theatre—then subverts expectations with humorous lyrics, exaggerated performance, and sonic gags. Rooted in vaudeville and music hall traditions, comedy music ranges from novelty songs and topical ditties to elaborate pastiches and narrative sketches. It values comedic timing as much as musical craft, using hooks, rhyme, and arrangement to set up and deliver punchlines while remaining musically engaging.
