Slaskie piosenki (Silesian songs), often referred to as 'śląskie szlagiery' (Silesian schlagers), is a popular music genre from the Upper Silesia region of Poland. It blends traditional Silesian folk music with German Schlager, polka, and pop elements. The lyrics are almost exclusively sung in the Silesian dialect (godka) and focus on themes of regional identity, family life, coal mining traditions, love, and the joys of everyday life.
